A press release was held in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on Nov 2, and a three-year digitalization work plan (2023-25) was issued.
Over the next three years, OVC will coordinate the development of smart devices, all-optical networking, and cloud services, advance three intelligent applications, and establish three management systems focusing on cyberspace security, data resources and digitalization.
Information-based methods will further serve local talent and enterprises, while an online and offline full-life-cycle service system for companies will be established in OVC.
The future digitalized government service mechanism will include applications in grassroots governance, city operation, government affairs, and welfare services.
OVC has clarified 10 major tasks and 45 key projects to complete over the next three years.
As a digital economy hub in Wuhan as well as Hubei province as a whole, the valley reported that its digital economy added value accounted for over 50 percent of its GDP last year, with the total sales revenue of local digital economy enterprises exceeding 400 billion yuan ($55.12 billion). There are currently 2,257 5G base stations in OVC.
