The Wuhan government has released the Wuhan role model list for the third quarter of 2022. Among the 10 excellent individuals on the list, three work in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

Hu Yun, one of the three individuals, is the director of OVC's Zhiyuan community in Zuoling sub-district. Having been dedicated to grass-roots work for 22 years, Hu has created a special Party construction brand in her community, and has made efforts to integrate pandemic prevention and control, volunteer services, elderly care and cultural promotion. Under her guidance, residents of the community are actively engaged in community governance.

Hu Changfei, general manager of HGGenuine Optics Tech Co, has worked in the optical communication field for 20 years. He has advanced the R&D of 5G optical module products and established his own research team to independently produce high-end optical chips, after years of effort.

Xiong Zhuang, chief scientist at YOFC, has been devoted to the manufacturing and application of advanced optical fibers and optical cables, and has made a series of breakthroughs in the area.

He has revised more than 30 international and domestic industrial standards, and over 100 of his patents have been authorized.
