9th youth innovation, entrepreneurship competition unveiled

The scientific and technological innovation section of the Ninth China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was unveiled in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on Aug 24.
The event included a summit, an exchange activity, a face-to-face investment activity, and the finals of the scientific and technological innovation contest, and was attended by leaders from Hubei province, Wuhan and the valley.
This is the second time OVC has held the contest. A new category was added – the future industry – in addition to new-generation IT, life and health, smart manufacturing and other industries. More than 6,500 projects were entered into the contest, with 52 of them reaching the finals.
Dou Xiankang, president of Wuhan University, delivered a keynote speech on the occasion, highlighting the many opportunities for young people in the current era and stressing the importance of global vision and wholehearted participation so that Chinese technologies can contribute more to the community with a shared future for mankind.
Huang Li, chairman of Wuhan Guide Infrared Co, shared his experiences and thoughts on starting his own business and proposed that the young entrepreneurs and innovators focus on what the nation and society really need.
