The China Special Aircraft Research and Development Center, funded by China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co and the China Special Aircraft Research Institute, was recently established in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

As the first complex project in the aviation industry in Central China, it includes two office towers for aviation R&D, a 7,000-square-meter aviation exhibition center, and a 35,000-square-meter city eco-park. Researchers will conduct R&D activities for amphibious aircrafts, aerostats, and general-purpose aircrafts.

The center is located on Guanggu Avenue and was designed by NIKKEN SEKKEI, a Japan-based architectural design company.

The China Special Aircraft Research and Development Center is expected to begin operating soon, attract more leading enterprises in general aviation, and form a special industrial eco-system for OVC.
