OVC allocates 11b yuan to assist tech firms
Last year, the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) has distributed 11 billion yuan ($1.64 billion) to local technology enterprises, accounting for 52.5 percent of the government's general public budget expenditures, according to officials from the valley interviewed on May 30.
In addition, OVC has lent a hand to tech firms in terms of project applications, loan interest, financing, scenario support and more.
The valley is expected to allocate a fund of 260 million yuan to such firms this year. In addition, electronic sci-tech innovation coupons worth 30 million yuan will be issued by the government to encourage enterprises to purchase technological services on innovation platforms.
Optics Valley of China boasts five provincial key laboratories, nine major technological facilities, nine national innovation centers, and many interdisciplinary research platforms. A complete platform service system integrating scientific research, technological development, technology commercialization, talent support and financial guarantees has taken shape.
