The East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) recently issued a circular seeking public feedback on the name and design of a sky rail to be launched soon. Here are four design options to choose from.

Design 1: Sci-Tech Wing. This design is based on the fact that Optics Valley of China boasts China's largest electronic and information industrial base and many other high-tech sectors, including biomedicine and high-end equipment. [Photo/WeChat account of Optics Valley of China]

Design 2: Innovation Pioneer. This design represents innovation, as OVC has gathered a number of universities and research institutes, and its intellectual and innovative capabilities rank first in China. [Photo/WeChat account of Optics Valley of China]

The sky rail is reportedly 24 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, with a maximum passenger capacity of 220. It can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour. It also boasts a special 270-degree view and many other energy-efficient technologies that contribute to China's double carbon goals.
