The 2021 Wuhan Technology Transfer Match-Up for the Dual-Carbon Goal was held on Nov 11 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), with 21 carbon-reducing projects worth 126 million yuan ($19.66 million) signed. More than half of the 21 projects will be built in OVC.

The convention was held by the Wuhan government, undertaken by OVC's administrative committee and the Wuhan science and technology bureau and addressed by Yang Kai, vice president of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Zhang Qing, president of Hubei Changjiang Electric Co.

As a leader, practitioner, and contributor of the dual-carbon goal, Optics Valley of China is working to build more technology transfer platforms and striving to integrate green manufacturing, supply chains, transportation and consumption into every production and operation link.

A report on the development of OVC's technology market in 2020 was also released at the event, showing that enterprises are the largest technology provider and consumer, and that 85.7 percent of technology contracts in the valley were signed between firms.

The report also indicated that OVC occupies 1.4 percent, 23.1 percent, and 41.3 percent of the technology market share in China, Hubei province, and Wuhan, respectively.
