The 2021 Tencent Digital Ecosystem Summit was held on Nov 3-4 by China's tech giant Tencent at the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

Designed to explore new development opportunities in the digital industry and delineate blueprints for key technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, the summit demonstrated Tencent's latest research progress, strategic plans, technological products and solutions, and served as a comprehensive platform for the government, enterprises, and the public to learn about Tencent's digital ecosystem.

The event features a technological summit – Techo Day – and more than 100 advanced technologies and over 150 innovative service scenarios are displayed in the 10,000-square-meter digital experience and exhibition area, where visitors are able to learn about new application scenarios involving digital cities, smart medical services, transportation, and industries.

The digital development achievement exhibition area at the summit showcases many Wuhan's government service projects participated by Tencent, involving digital government, city governance, public services and many other scenarios. Tencent also helped Wuhan win the "2021 Global Smart City Award".

After the establishment of the Tencent Wuhan Research Center in Wuhan's Jiangxia district in 2020, the company set up a subsidiary – Tencent (Wuhan) Digital Industry Headquarters – at the Optics Valley of China in March this year, to expand its cloud business in Hubei and also in the rest of Central China.

Tang Daosheng, Tencent's vice executive president, believed that the integration between digital and real economies is bringing new momentum to enterprises, especially when the raw material prices are soaring.
