Striving to become one of China's hubs for international exchange, Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, recently decided to develop 25 international pilot neighborhoods, with three of them to be deployed in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone, or Optics Valley of China (OVC). 

The Silicon Valley Town, once completed, will be an exemplary international neighborhood that leads Wuhan's future development of such communities. The town reportedly will occupy an area of 0.92 square kilometers, accommodate 50,000 to 60,000 residents, and be surrounded by high-tech firms and educational resources such as Tianma Microelectronics Co and the China University of Geosciences. 

The international communities are designed to create overseas life scenarios and architecture, and schools, hospitals, gymnasiums and bars with exotic flavors are also expected to be made in place at these communities. 

Meanwhile, import supermarkets and direct-sale sites of duty-free stores will also be introduced. Signs in key public areas of the international community will be translated into multiple languages. 

Once completed, the Silicon Valley Town in OVC will also offer one-stop bilingual services at its visitor center, which will involve government and police affairs, legal consultations, taxes, and other areas related to business operations. 

The town will also be able to hold music and cultural festivals with top-notch universities such as Wuhan University. To ensure expatriates are spiritually and physically satisfied with the community, the town will also build foreign bookstores and libraries and engage in various regional sports competitions.
