East Lake High-tech Development Zone, also known as Optics Valley of China – located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province – is continuing to improve its business environment and the latest focus has fallen on streamlining its tax system.
It reportedly simplified the taxation process, enabling 10 types of taxes to be handled while just requiring a single form to be filled in, starting from June 1.
These include urban land use tax, real estate tax, vehicle and vessel tax, stamp tax, cultivated land occupation tax, resource tax, land value-added tax, deed tax, environmental protection tax and tobacco tax.
When someone needs to declare one or more taxes, only a single form is now needed – which greatly shortens the processing time and improves efficiency.
As of June 15, the taxation bureau of Optics Valley had handled more than 4,000 tax declarations under the new procedure, according to officials.
