The East Lake High-tech Development Zone, also known as Optics Valley of China -- located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province -- is accelerating the development of an international talent community, according to local media reports.

The community aims to provide an optimal environment and support services for elite people from abroad who will settle down in the zone, increasing its attractiveness to top international professionals and creating a first-class talent gathering place with international competitiveness and openness.

The Silicon Valley Town Science and Technology Park project is located at the intersection of Gaoxin Avenue and Weilai 3rd Road in Optics Valley. Like Silicon Valley's Palo Alto technology city in California, it will introduce and cultivate benchmark enterprises in such fields as integrated circuits, new display devices, future technology, emerging technology incubations and new infrastructure.

The project plans to build landmark office buildings such as a Silicon Valley Gate and Silicon Valley Cube. Plans are also for an overseas talent innovation center, a headquarters office cluster, international talent apartments, hospitals, schools, conference centers, cultural and art centers, as well as an open green space, which can meet the working and living needs of international Talents.

The exhibition center for the Silicon Valley Town project has reportedly been completed and the 100,000-square-meter Silicon Valley Cube -- an artificial intelligence innovation center -- is expected to be completed in October and opened by the end of next year.

Construction of an international innovation incubation base covering 400,000 sq m will start on May 1, with it scheduled to open in November next year.
