The Wuhan headquarters of United Imaging began operations on April 10 at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province.

United Imaging is a domestic leader in medical equipment. The Wuhan headquarters, with an investment of 5 billion yuan ($763 million), is located south of Gaoxin 2nd Road, east of Gaokeyuan Road and north of Shendun 5th Road.

It covers a total building area of around 210,000 square meters.

The facility aims to develop into a distinctive R&D center and production base in the fields of intelligent manufacturing of high-end medical equipment and core components, medical big data and artificial intelligence.

In 2020, the scale of Wuhan's health industry reached 400 billion yuan, and in the next five years, the amount will hit 1 trillion yuan.

United Imaging's Wuhan base will accelerate the gathering of more upstream and downstream enterprises into the industrial chain and accelerate the formation of a trillion-yuan-level health industrial cluster, according to a municipal official.

The city invites more companies to invest in Wuhan, and the city will improve its business environment, added the official.
