Construction of the headquarters building and storage and transportation center of the China Seed Capital was completed on Feb 23 in Wuhan. The facilities will begin operations at the end of March.
The China Seed Capital is located in East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province.
Constructed and to be operated by Wuhan Hi-tech Group, the projects are expected to offer a range of services after completion, including office space, R&D and testing, production and processing, warehousing and logistics.
Now, more than 50 companies, including some seed enterprises, intend to settle in the headquarters. The number is expected to reach 1,000 by 2025, generating an annual output of 100 billion yuan ($15.48 billion).
The zone will also establish a public experimental platform for cutting-edge seed cultivation technology, an achievement transformation center and a trading center. A seed industry fund will be set up to help small and medium-sized seed companies solve financing problems, with the fund's first phase worth more than 1 billion yuan.
