First architectural sci-tech museum opens in Optics Valley

China's first science and technology museum with the theme of architecture opened its doors on Aug 19 in the East Lake High Tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley -- located in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, according to local media reports.
The facility, which is called the China Architectural Science and Technology Museum, was built as a national first-class museum. It was also constructed to top 5A level tourist scenic spot standards and with a total of 19,000 square meters building area.
The exhibition area of the museum covers about 6,000 square meters, including permanent exhibition area, thematic exhibition area and temporary exhibition area.

The permanent exhibition is divided into four main halls for showing ancient architecture, Jingchu architecture – from the culture of Hubei which dates back over three thousand years – as well as modern architecture and future architecture.
