Optics Valley continues to recruit medical volunteers

Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China -- in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei province and the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak in China -- is continuing the valiant fight against the epidemic, zone officials said.

They said it is continuing to recruit and look for volunteers with basic medical knowledge and skills and medical background and experience, to form the Optics Valley professional medical volunteers team to fight against the NCP epidemic.

The duration of voluntary activities is tentatively set at 10 days, with a subsidy of 300 yuan ($ 43) per person per day.

Protective equipment required for the work will be provided and special insurance for medical staff will be purchased, as well as accommodation and transportation.

The main work for the volunteers is to answer the questions posed by suspected patients and fever patients in time and guide and help them to get through the isolation period better.

Officials said the posts are open to those under 50 who can endure hardships and be capable of hard work, can adapt to tough conditions, are currently in Wuhan, can meet the above conditions and are willing to join the volunteer team.
