Optics Valley starts tram service
The “Quantum” tram went into operation at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province, on April 1, with two lines in service.
Line 1 runs from Optics Valley pedestrian street to Guanggu 1st Road and Fozuling, a total journey of around 12.5 kilometers, with 17 stations.
The second line runs from Tangxun Lake Station to Optics Valley Botanical Garden Station, a total distance of around 19.2 kilometers, with 25 stations.
A ticket for the tram costs 2 yuan ($0.16) one way, and passengers get a discount if they use a local bus and metro card.
