A team from the Committee on Economic Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee visited  Central China's Henan province from April 7 to 10, to conduct a survey on the implementation of regional development strategies and regional industrial collaboration. Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, led the team.

The team visited the cities of Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Nanyang and Luoyang, where they toured industrial parks, production workshops, and research institutions and engaged directly with business leaders, scientific researchers, and industrial workers. They gained a detailed understanding of Henan’s practices and progress in advancing regional development strategies and deepening industrial collaboration, while collecting a broad range of opinions and suggestions from various sectors.

The team acknowledged Henan's solid progress in leveraging scientific and technological innovation to drive industrial transformation, saying the province has strengthened regional coordination, deepened reform and opening-up, and continued to advance its modernization drive.

They emphasized the CPPCC's role as a specialized consultative body, urging its members to focus on targeted research and policy recommendations concerning regional development and industrial collaboration. They called for efforts to improve the mechanisms for coordinated regional development, fully harness the combined advantages of regional development strategies, and intensify cross-regional cooperation in industrial and supply chains. These efforts aim to facilitate the rational flow and efficient allocation of resources, and contribute to shaping a regional economic landscape characterized by complementary strengths and high-quality development, the team said.

In conclusion, the team called for in-depth consultations and broad consensus-building, pooling CPPCC wisdom and strength to support high-quality economic and social development.
