China's competitiveness, charm and development vigor in its wine industry should be promoted to the world, according to Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee.
When addressing the opening ceremony of the Second China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo held in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Sept 7, Su, also chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League, pointed out that China is the country with the greatest potential and fastest growth in the wine consumption market. A sustainable development mode that sticks to green development and coordinates resource utilization with ecological conservation, economic growth with environmental protection, and tourism development with cultural heritage inheritance should be firmly followed.
Su stressed that it's important to show China's industrial competitiveness, cultural charm and development potential to the world and develop an opening-up path for Chinese wine that maintains harmony while allowing for differences.
The eastern side of the Helan Mountains is currently China's largest centralized wine grape growing area. In 2021, the national grape and wine industrial opening-up and development comprehensive pilot zone was settled in Ningxia.
