We suggest that one of the following two dates be designated as the National Teachers' Day — April 1 or June 6 (the original Teachers' Day).

Teachers' Day activities:

1. Study and promote the Party's education policies, and commend schools and individuals who have done a good job in implementing them.

2. Encourage the study of education sciences and engage people in learning about the educational philosophies and practices of historical and contemporary Chinese educators in a bid to encourage them to develop China's own pedagogy and psychology.

3. Share best practices in education and teaching, and select role models.

Organize activities to highlight respect for teachers and care for students. A sense of duty and pride should be inculcated in educators, giving them passion and respect for their job.
