Delegation from Siemens (China) visits XJTU
On the morning of April 18, a delegation from Siemens China, led by Mr. Joachim Kraege, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobility North East Asia visited our campus. XJTU Vice President Lu Tianjian met with the guests in room 107 of the Science Hall and said he hoped that this meeting could contribute to furthering mutual understanding and cooperation between XJTU and Siemens China. Mr. Kraege concurred, adding that Siemens was very interested in developing extensive cooperation with XJTU and then laying out briefly what he hoped might be accomplished on this visit.
That afternoon, Mr. Kraege delivered a lecture to the teachers and students of XJTU in room 101 of the Science Hall. He spoke personally about his own career, and how he rose from the 'grassroots level' to become a senior executive of the company, moving in the process from Germany to Japan, to Hong Kong and then to China. He also discussed the current activities and development plans of Siemens in China.
Siemens China began its cooperative relationship with XJTU, and more specifically with the School of Energy &Power Engineering, in 1993, and recently established a Siemens scholarship fund for the benefit of students in that school.
