Xiamen's online retail sales reach $4.93b on Double 11, ranking first in Fujian
During the recent Double 11 shopping festival, Xiamen's e-commerce sector performed exceptionally well, maintaining its lead in Fujian province with record-high online retail sales.
Xiamen's online retail sales reached 35.64 billion yuan ($4.93 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent and accounting for 37 percent of the province’s total online retail sales. The online retail sales of physical goods amounted to 32.33 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.7 percent.
Xiamen's first-class business environment has inspired numerous leading e-commerce companies to establish their headquarters in the city. The city has developed several e-commerce belts focusing on specialty agricultural products, plumbing and bathroom supplies, footwear and apparel, cosmetics, snacks, and seafood.
Xiamen is home to 626 companies with online retail sales exceeding 1 million yuan and 13 companies with sales exceeding 100 million yuan. It has 864 stores with online retail sales exceeding 1 million yuan and 13 Taobao and Douyin stores with sales exceeding 100 million yuan.
The outstanding performance of these companies and stores not only contributes to the economic development of Xiamen but also provides consumers with more high-quality goods and services.
