Focused on fostering advancements in autonomous driving, intelligent security, smart transportation, and healthcare technology, the park will leverage nearby supercomputing facilities at the Huawei Kunpeng Supercomputing Center and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Data Intelligence.
The park plans to establish itself as an emblematic "AI+Industry" hub by 2025. It aims to attract domestic and international firms and spearhead the formation of an array of “AI+Industry” prototypes.
Facilities within the park currently include a 12,000 sq m municipal-level AI incubator and a co-instituted AI industrial service system. The park has also welcomed the IBM Watson Build Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center amongst its settled enterprises. Additionally, Xiamen University and Xi'an Jiaotong University have built tech transfer facilities within the park's premises.
Key companies like Tencent, Baidu, and Alibaba are currently being courted to build large AI models in the park. The park is committed to providing widespread support for enterprises in AI research, product innovation, and business model evolution.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
