More measures to stimulate consumer goods market
The Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce recently rolled out five measures to promote stable growth in consumer goods market.
Measure No.1: Vigorously support major trading enterprises. A "one to one" support policy is applied to encourage major trading companies in the city to expand the market and increase sales, in order to prevent their business performance from declining.
Measure No.2: Help companies below the norm become above the norm. Reward policy is introduced to reduce business operating costs and encourage enterprises to exploit the market, so that they (including individually owned businesses and corporate entities) can be upgraded to above the norm.
Measure No.3: Promote the development of non-legal-person businesses so that they can become corporate entities. Special support is given to unincorporated enterprises (including individually owned businesses and enterprises, partnership enterprises and subsidiaries) with good growth prospects, in order to help them standardize their operation and management, improve competitiveness and achieve growth. By doing this, a savings pool for the consumer market can be built.
Measure No.4: Encourage the development of high-end commerce industry. Special funds for commercial circulation industry are used mainly to support high-end retail industry, large wholesale and retail markets, as well as brand chain enterprises.
Measure No.5: Vigorously develop the online retail industry. Online retail is regarded as the most important part of electronic commerce, and receives special support from Xiamen’s e-commerce support funds, which encourage retail enterprises to expand sales and develop integrated e-commerce services.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
