The Leading Party Members Group of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) held a meeting on June 11, urging for greater efforts to promote high-quality employment through greater judicial support to contribute to the well-being of the people.

Zhang Jun, secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and president of the SPC, chaired the meeting.

It was recognized at the meeting that promoting sufficient and high-quality employment is fundamental to the immediate interests of the people, as well as the healthy social and economic development and the long-term stability of the country.

Courts at all levels were urged to actively fulfill their duties in accordance with the law, enhance their sense of responsibility, take employment as a top priority that matters to people's livelihoods, and offer judicial support for the resolution of employment-related disputes.

The significance of judicial services in promoting employment was highlighted at the meeting, and courts nationwide were urged to take into account the problems arising from social development at the current stage while performing their functions.

It was pointed out at the meeting that the supporting role of the judiciary should be fully leveraged, particularly in resolving employment-related disputes. Courts at all levels should be tasked with facilitating compliance reforms within companies involved in cases, intensify efforts in civil, administrative, and enforcement areas, and assist in sustaining businesses based on the law to stabilize employment, according to the meeting.

It was required at the meeting that courts at all levels should embrace a concept of benevolent and civilized enforcement, and take measures, such as the tailored application of legal provisions, to stimulate economic vitality. They should also work with relevant departments to foster a fair and non-discriminatory employment environment, and facilitate upholding labors’ rights and interests, the meeting stated.

Participants of the meeting emphasized the need for proactive governance at the forefront, integrating judicial services into national and social governance.

The people's courts should enhance their proactive role, utilize judicial recommendations and work consultations to prevent conflicts at the source, and strive towards building a harmonious and law-abiding society in the course of building a modern socialist country on all fronts, the meeting noted.

Moreover, discussions at the meeting also encompassed guidelines for managing litigation sources, cross-enforcement initiatives and accountability cases, emphasizing the necessity of aligning judicial theoretical research with practical work, and ensuring that judges, particularly frontline judicial officers, concentrate more on judicial enforcement work to effectively alleviate burdens at the grassroots level.
