The Supreme Court of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka: improving technical skills to better protect cyberspace
The government plays an important role in cyberspace governance, as do other stakeholders, said Buwaneka Aluwihare, justice of the Supreme Court of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, at the World Forum on Rule of Law in the Internet held on Dec 5 in Wuzhen, East China's Zhejiang province. He stressed that all parties should join hands to fight against cyber crime and added that strengthening international judicial cooperation plays a key role as many cyber crimes are trans-regional. In addition, he gave a brief introduction of Sri Lanka's situation in the crackdown on cyber crimes. Cloud computing, encryption techniques and anonymous applications have made it difficult for the country to protect cyberspace and it is now working on improving technical skills as well as optimizing laws and regulations on electronic evidence and data protection.
