Courts collect judicial suggestions from deputies in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan
A seminar intending to collect judicial suggestions from deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on Dec 23.
At the meeting, attendees and the deputies affirmed the courts' work in maintaining judicial fairness and supporting national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and gave their suggestions on improving judicial work.
Yang Wanming, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), said courts would classify and analyze suggestions collected at the meeting and encouraged a closer relationship between courts and the delegates and deputies so contributions to improving China's legal system could be better made.
In addition, Yang outlined this year's judicial work of courts at various levels in China.
He explained the main work of resolving the problem of difficult enforcement, deepening judicial reform, pushing forward judicial transparency, promoting construction of smart courts and increasing judicial exchange and cooperation on work related to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
On the same day, attendees also visited the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court.
