Huozhou, a county-level city in the south-central region of Shanxi province, covers an area of 765 square kilometers. It administers seven townships, and five urban communities, with a total population of 273,000.
Linfen city and Linfen county were established in April 1937 and were merged into Linfen county in June 1949. They were re-established as separate entities under the administration of Linfen region in 1971.
