Dongying city in East China's Shandong province hosted the 2025 Yellow River Estuary (Dongying) Road Cycling Race, which commenced in Lijin county, the race's first stage.

Twenty professional teams from China and abroad started first, followed closely by amateur riders. After nearly three hours of intense riding, Alexander Salby of the Li Ning Star Team claimed victory with a time of two hours, 50 minutes, and 42 seconds. Salby also secured both the yellow jersey as overall leader and the green jersey for the sprint classification.

Liu Zhicheng of the Camp Cycling Team finished eighth, earning the white jersey as the Best Asian Rider and emerging as the top-performing Chinese cyclist. The blue jersey for best overall Asian rider was awarded to stage runner-up Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan of the Terengganu Cycling Team. Additionally, the Hong Kong Sports Institute Pro Cycling Team took first place in the team classification.

Now in its ninth year, this prestigious event has been elevated to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Men's Elite 2.2 Professional Series Race, reflecting its commitment to high standards, superior organization, and international recognition.
