Seven new projects to be located in Weihai Integrated Free Trade Zone, focusing on new energy, intelligent manufacturing, battery materials, precision machinery, and video surveillance, were signed into effect at the 2024 China-South Korea enterprise cross-border cooperation exchange conference held in Weihai, Shandong province, on Aug 6. The projects are set to provide strong support for the region's industrial upgrading and innovative development.

Nearly 40 Chinese and South Korean companies and industry associations were invited to attend the conference, which was aimed at deepening China-South Korea exchanges and cooperation and introducing Weihai to more South Korean businesses.

A highlight of the event was the signing of a China-South Korea manufacturing cross-border accelerator project, which is designed to serve as an international incubation platform for high-quality projects from both countries. This platform will provide one-stop services for technology companies looking to innovate and set up operations in each other's markets.

To facilitate further exchanges, the conference hosted roadshows featuring 15 South Korean companies and over 20 local enterprises engaged in information technology, shipbuilding, intelligent equipment, new energy, and recreational vehicles. Afterward, Chinese and South Korean companies engaged in in-depth discussions to gain a deeper understanding of the local business environment and foster cooperation in areas such as technological innovation and market resources.

Following the conference, participating companies conducted on-site visits to warehouses and cold chain logistics industrial parks within the Weihai Integrated Free Trade Zone, gaining firsthand insights into the zone's industrial carriers and development momentum.
