Weihai Huatan Supply Chain Management Co Ltd, a mixed-ownership enterprise specializing in supply chain management, logistics, and international trade, has made significant strides in promoting China-Tanzania trade. In response to China's Belt and Road Initiative, the company has accelerated its transformation and established a comprehensive foreign trade service platform in Tanzania, a key market in Africa.
Its Comprehensive Service Cooperation Zone in the East Africa Commercial and Logistics Industrial Park offers a wide range of services, including offline trading, exhibitions, bonded warehousing, customs clearance, after-sales service, cross-border e-commerce, supply chain finance, processing, re-export trade, and one-stop cross-border business services. This facility serves as a bridge connecting China and Tanzania and has become a gateway for Chinese companies entering the African market.
To date, the park has attracted over 290 enterprises and users, providing more than 2,000 direct and indirect local jobs. In 2023, the park achieved a total output value of $310 million, driving over $270 million in domestic exports.
Huatan has actively participated in exchanges and cooperation with the Tanzanian government and non-governmental organizations, strengthening cultural exchange and mutual trust between the two countries through exhibitions and other events.
Looking ahead, Huatan will continue to deepen its presence in the African market, improve the park's functions, attract more companies, and promote deeper and broader China-Tanzania economic and trade cooperation.
