Tongan government officials complete training program in Weihai Vocational College

Print PrintThe four-day training program on Chinese language and culture for Tongan government officials concluded successfully at Weihai Vocational College in Weihai, a city in East China's Shandong province.
This initiative, led by the Beijing International Chinese College, represents a concrete action by Weihai Vocational College to support the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. Twenty-three officials from Tonga's Ministry of Education participated in the training.
During the seminar, Liu Zhigang, head of the Publicity Department of Weihai Vocational College, shared some basic information about Weihai and the historical evolution of the college, its educational levels, distinctive features and philosophies. He shared the college's experience and achievements in international exchanges and cooperation and vocational training.
Throughout the program, the participants admired Chinese calligraphy, visited art and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, and observed traditional craftsmanship such as tin inlay, paper cutting, and enamel art, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
The attendees praised the school's educational model focused on practical training and student-centered practice base construction, expressing their desire to return to Weihai Vocational College for further study.
The participants also visited some well-known enterprises in Weihai, gaining insight into advanced manufacturing technologies and management systems in industries like clothing and footwear.
In Rongcheng, they enjoyed the tranquil natural scenery of rural areas, learned about the history, architecture and governance of villages, and praised the achievements of rural vitalization strategies and the development of the countryside.
