Cai Xueling, president of Midland-Odessa Chinese Association and Chinese American Youth Association, and her delegation visited Dongying city for an inspection and exchange from June 1 to 5.

Since 1986, Dongying city and Midland city have established a close and friendly sister-city relationship, fostering years of strong interaction.

During the visit, a discussion meeting was convened to foster broad exchanges and collaboration between the two cities across various domains such as education, economy, trade, and culture. Additionally, they deliberated on essential matters, including the anticipated visit of the Midland city mayor to Dongying in 2025, as well as the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of their sister city relationship in 2026.

To enhance educational exchanges, particularly youth study programs, Cai and her delegation visited several key institutions within the city. Their itinerary included Dongying Chenyang School, Dongying No 1 High School, Sun Tzu Cultural Park, Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve, Dongying City Library, and Dongying City Art Gallery. The objective was to conduct thorough research for designing study tour routes and making necessary arrangements. Furthermore, they set their sights on hosting the inaugural group of study tour participants from Midland city in Dongying by the end of June.

Furthermore, the delegation visited the Highland Petroleum Equipment Group, where they had the opportunity to see the Friendship Tower donated to Dongying by Midland city.
