Event held in South Korea to promote Liaocheng's traditional culture

Print PrintThe city of Liaocheng, Shandong province, held a traditional cultural promotion event in Gwangmyeong, South Korea, on May 20.
Prior to the event, a promotional video showcasing Liaocheng's unique water city landscapes and its status as a famous cultural city was shared.
At the event, Liu Zhe, a chiba (bamboo flute) player from Liaocheng, performed two pieces of music, showcasing the distinctive styles of canal culture and Chinese grassland music.
A musician from the Shandong Province Musicians Association also gave two erhu performances. These captivating performances drew crowds of onlookers, who applauded enthusiastically.
Dong Yueqin, a paper-cutting intangible cultural heritage inheritor from Chiping district, demonstrated the art of paper-cutting. With her skillful scissor work, a prosperous and auspicious image eventually emerged from an ordinary piece of paper. Dong then showcased paper-cutting clothing, inviting locals to try them on and take photos.
To conclude the event, representatives from Liaocheng updated and supplemented the exhibits at the Nishan House. Visitors were encouraged to explore the exhibits and learn about Liaocheng's rich cultural heritage.
This event is part of Liaocheng's overseas promotion project, aiming to promote the city's rich history and culture, rapid development, and unique charm to more people abroad through a series of cultural exhibitions, promotions, and experiential activities. The event seeks to attract visitors to Liaocheng, enhancing the city's reputation and influence on the global stage.
