IV. Plentiful Minerals

The prefecture abounds with minerals, with as many as 41 different kinds. The explored reserves in the prefecture include coal, gold, antimony, fluorite, and marble. Furthermore, the prefecture ranks third in Guizhou province for coal reserves with more than 19 billion tons. Prospective gold reserves have been estimated to reach over 1,000 tons, earning a title of "China's Golden Prefecture" by the China Gold Association. In addition, the prefecture is also rich in natural marbles, especially serpeggiante, which is recognized as a rare resource.
