Xing Tongda, a diligent worker and shift leader at the No 1 Chemical Plant of PetroChina Daqing Petrochemical Company in Daqing city, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, has dedicated himself to the motto of "being a top-notch worker, operating top-notch process units."

Since joining the plant in 2013 as an operator, Xing has garnered numerous accolades over the years. Transitioning from a grassroots operator to a frontline shift leader and a versatile backbone technician, Xing embodies the essence of craftsmanship, emphasizing mentorship and continuous learning, which is also a fine tradition in the company.

In 2023, Xing was elected as a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC). Embracing this new role, he actively collected public opinion and transformed it into valuable suggestions at the first session of the 14th NPC. He also called for efforts to elevate the social status of industrial workers and combat online disinformation, receiving widespread attention.

Moreover, Xing has shown particular concern for the voices of vulnerable groups. Prior to this year's NPC session, he submitted suggestions to the Daqing People's Procuratorate, advocating for more attention to vulnerable communities.

In response to his suggestions, the procuratorate initiated prosecutorial supervision of public interest litigation related to the development of barrier-free functions in the 120 emergency medical rescue call system.

Reflecting on the outcomes, Xing emphasized the importance of the procuratorate's role in not only facilitating emergency responses but also serving as a lifeline for individuals with special needs. When the Daqing People's Procuratorate briefed him on the progress after the NPC session, he expressed the hope that the procuratorate will further enhance prosecutorial supervision of efforts in improving and renovating barrier-free facilities in accordance with the law.

On a recent visit to the Saertu District Procuratorate in Daqing city, Xing was impressed by the practical measures taken and achievements made by the procuratorate in supporting enterprise development, addressing public concerns, and safeguarding the healthy growth of minors through campaigns like "Prosecutorial Protection for Enterprises" and "Prosecutorial Protection for People's Livelihood".

Xing said he hopes procuratorial organs will promote innovation in prosecutorial technology and create supervision models supported by big data, so that the quality and efficiency of prosecutorial supervision can be enhanced through technological and digital means.
