Senior legislator underlines high-quality inspection of intangible cultural heritage law enforcement

An inspection team of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee on the enforcement of the law on intangible cultural heritages convened its first plenary meeting in Beijing on May 7.  Vice-Chairpersons of the NPC Standing Committee Hao Mingjin, Cai Dafeng, He Wei and Tie Ning attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Tie emphasized the necessity of focusing on key issues in prominent areas and promoting the implementation of the law in a comprehensive and effective way.

It is imperative to reinforce government responsibilities and enhance supporting systems in accordance with the provisions of the law to strengthen systematic protection, she said, adding that efforts should be made to bolster dynamic inheritance and effective dissemination of intangible cultural heritages and propel new progress in the sector on the path of rule of law.

She urged the members of the inspection team to fulfill their responsibilities and carry out inspections with high standards and quality to ensure tangible outcomes.
