Chinese president's special envoy attends inauguration ceremony of Turkish president

At the invitation of the government of the Republic of Turkiye, Ding Zhongli, special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, attended the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on June 3. He had a brief conversation with Erdogan during the ceremony.

Ding, also vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, conveyed Xi’s sincere congratulations and best wishes to Erdogan. Noting that China has always viewed and developed its relations with Turkiye from a strategic and long-term perspective, Ding said that China is ready to work with Turkiye to enhance political mutual trust, promote practical cooperation, deepen their traditional friendship and push for the steady and long-term development of China-Turkiye strategic cooperative relations.

Erdogan expressed his appreciation to President Xi Jinping for sending a special envoy to attend the inauguration ceremony and asked Ding to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to the Chinese president, stressing that Turkiye is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields and promote bilateral relations to a higher level.
