The National People's Congress, the top legislature, held a news conference on Saturday, one day ahead of the opening of its annual session.

Here are the highlights:

- Nearly 3,000 NPC deputies to begin work on Sunday

The first session of the 14th National People's Congress will open at 9 am on Sunday and conclude on March 13. 

- Constitution has been enhanced to allow greater participation of people in legislation
