The National People's Congress (NPC) held a symposium on environmental protection and resource conservation in Huzhou city, East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 14 and 15.

Shen Yueyue and Ding Zhongli, both vice-chairpersons of the NPC Standing Committee, attended the meeting.

The meeting noted that the Standing Committee of the 13th NPC has taken legal measures to advance solid progress in ecological civilization, which has made historic achievements since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012.

With a focus on the Beautiful China initiative, the meeting called for accelerated efforts to enhance the legal system for ecological and environmental protection, step up supervision, and promote continuous achievements in accordance with the law.
