Rudong releases latest government work report

The sixth session of the 18th Rudong People's Congress was held on Jan 14, during which the government unveiled its latest work report.

In 2025, Rudong saw strong economic development. Its regional GDP was expected to exceed 150 billion yuan ($21.53 billion), up 5.6 percent year-on-year, while general public budget revenue reached 7.75 billion yuan. The county also added two listed companies last year, and the offshore wind power equipment industry cluster was designated a national-level characteristic industrial cluster of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Last year, Rudong signed agreements for 50 projects worth over 500 million yuan each and broke ground on 58 industrial projects worth over 100 million yuan each. Its imports and exports topped 61.5 billion yuan.

The county also achieved strong progress in improving people's livelihoods, completing 55 livelihood-related tasks and adding 12,000 newly employed urban residents. The per capita disposable income of residents hit 51,000 yuan.

Rudong also unveiled its development tasks for 2026. Its main expected targets for economic and social development include around 6 percent growth in regional GDP, 8.2 billion yuan in general public budget revenue, around 5 percent growth in fixed assets investment, and over 5 percent growth in total retail sales of consumer goods.

To build strong industries with distinctive advantages, the city has set goals to achieve 6 percent growth in output value above designated size, implement 60 technical renovation projects worth over 10 million yuan each, build over 10 provincial advanced-level smart factories, and more.

Efforts will also be made to expand the scale of its marine industry, with goals of achieving 55 billion yuan in gross marine production and 63.5 billion yuan in imports and exports.
