The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province, will strengthen maritime development and contribute to the high-quality development of Jiangsu's coastal areas in 2026.

This was stated during the county's investment promotion and project construction mobilization meeting, held on Jan 6.

This year, the zone will do everything it can to ensure the pilot test base begins operating at full capacity. It will also support the science and technology innovation center in incubating more enterprises, with the goal of introducing no less than 20 new technology enterprises by the end of the year.

The zone will also step up its cooperation with the China Chemical Safety Association, aiming to establish and put into operation the Institute of Essential Safety for Fine Chemicals. It will also operate the Institute of Marine Digital Economy and establish the East China Unmanned Aircraft Testing Base.

In addition, the zone will strive to introduce over 25 new science and technology innovation projects (including 10 high-growth projects) in 2026 and support no fewer than 12 industry-university-research cooperation projects throughout the year.

The zone will also develop a demonstration project for the cascading, multi-industry use of clean energy, explore digital economy applications such as intelligent computing centers and green big data, and plan the development of future industries including hydrogen energy and bio-manufacturing.
