The W1 berth at the Jinniu Terminal, located in the nearshore shallow waters of Yangkou Port, is expected to be ready for delivery by the end of the year, according to project leader Sui Chaoyue.
The first phase of the terminal commenced offshore construction in December of last year. To date, 24 percent of the overall project has been completed.
To ensure steady progress, Nantong maritime authorities have actively collaborated with local government and port departments, guiding construction and building units to perfect the navigation safety assurance plan.
The Jinniu Terminal at Yangkou Port has a planned coastline length of 3.7 kilometers, with 13 general bulk cargo berths for ships of 10,000 metric tons or less. The first phase, with a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan ($317.47 million), will feature two 50,000-ton general berths and one 50,000-ton multipurpose berth, with an annual designed throughput capacity of 4.08 million tons.
The terminal will streamline Yangkou Port's logistics supply chains and help attract major projects.
