Rudong advances in intellectual property rights protection
Rudong county in Nantong, Jiangsu province has made significant strides in boosting intellectual property creation, utilization, and protection in recent years, continually refining its intellectual property ecosystem to support business growth.
To date, Rudong has nurtured two national-level demonstration enterprises in intellectual property and seven national-level advantageous enterprises in the same field. Additionally, seven products with intensive patents have been recognized, with one receiving the Silver Award at the inaugural Jiangsu Provincial Patent Awards.
Among these pioneering enterprises is Jiangsu Yiwen Microelectronics Technology Co located in the Rudong Economic Development Zone's semiconductor industrial park. Specializing in etching and thin film deposition equipment, the company has applied for a total of 122 patents.
According to Liu Dan, general manager of the thin film division, the company's robust research and development investments, coupled with local government support, have facilitated their exploration of new technologies and market opportunities.
Liu further stated that with a nearly-100-percent application rate of patented technology in their products, the company achieved sales revenue exceeding 300 million yuan ($41.41 million) in 2023.
Moreover, the Rudong market supervision bureau has collaborated with financial institutions to establish a platform for intellectual property pledge financing, providing convenient and efficient financing services to enterprises and bolstering their confidence in intellectual property finance.
According to Pan Fei, director of the bureau, over the past two years, the bureau has facilitated 171 intellectual property pledge financing transactions, amounting to a total of 2.0 billion yuan. This initiative has significantly alleviated financing constraints for enterprises, transforming intellectual property assets into tangible financial resources.
