Tongzhou CPC Congress outlines 2024 achievements, 2025 economic goals

The fourth session of the 17th Tongzhou District CPC Congress convened on Jan 7. The meeting featured a government work report delivered by acting district director Wu Xia, which reviewed the government's work in 2024 and set plans for 2025.

According to the report, Tongzhou's GDP is expected to grow by 6.6 percent in 2024, while public revenue is forecasted to reach 7.7 billion yuan ($1.05 billion), a 2.7 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The meeting also laid out the main economic and social development goals for 2025. The district aims to achieve a 6 percent growth rate in GDP and a 5.2 percent increase in public revenue. The target growth rate for the added value of industrial production in large-scale industries is set at 11 percent, while fixed asset investment is expected to grow by around 3 percent. Additionally, retail sales of consumer goods are projected to rise by more than 5 percent.
