NHIZ firm receives hazardous waste operating license
Jiangsu Shenhuan Technology Co Ltd, located in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, obtained a hazardous waste operating license issued by the Nantong municipal ecology and environment bureau on Jan 6.
This marks the company's official entry into its trial production phase and is a significant step forward for NHIZ in its goal of becoming a zero-waste park.
Ge Zhenyu, director of the ecological office in NHIZ, explained, "Shenhuan Technology fills a critical gap in the district's ability to manage etching wastewater disposal, providing essential environmental support for the development of the electronic information industry."
In the future, the ecological office will assist Shenhuan Technology in connecting with local businesses that require hazardous waste disposal services. This will help establish a more efficient system for collecting, storing, and transporting hazardous waste within the district, increasing the overall disposal and recycling rate, according to Ge.
The integrated circuit equipment and components industry is one of the leading industries in NHIZ. Shenhuan Technology's new facility will support this sector by handling 15 types of hazardous waste listed in the national hazardous waste catalog, including the comprehensive treatment and recycling of etching wastewater and the safe disposal of high-concentration wastewater from the IC and circuit board industries. The project is designed with an integrated disposal capacity of 69,200 metric tons per year.
