Nantong national high-tech zone makes strides in industrial development
Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in East China's Jiangsu province has made remarkable progress in industrial development in the past year.
In 2022, the zone was ranked 41st on the list of national high-tech zones, a record high.
To boost industrial development, the zone introduced a 10-billion-yuan ($1.45 billion) project and a five-billion-yuan project, both of which are related to electronic components.
In addition, 19 new projects in the zone started construction last year. They include 11 projects worth 1 billion yuan each and eight projects worth 500 million yuan each.
Authorities also made efforts to introduce more projects to improve the industrial chain in the zone.
As a result, the industrial cluster of electric components in the zone made the list of provincial industrial clusters for innovation.
High-tech enterprises in the zone also flourished in the past year.
In 2022, the zone added a new national "little giant" enterprise and 30 new enterprises above the designated size.
The output value of the high-tech industry in the zone increased by 25.6 percent year-on-year and that of industries above the designated size increased by 16.7 year-on-year.
