Qidong, Nantong, Jiangsu province, organized 48 enterprises to participate in the 140th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, from Oct 15 to Nov 4, with 85 booths.

Covering sectors including household appliances, power tools, machinery, home textiles and new energy, the exhibitors secured multiple orders and cooperation agreements, highlighting the global competitiveness of Qidong-made products.

During the fair's first phase, a matchmaking event for Nantong's electromechanical industry brought together 37 overseas buyers from Latin America, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Africa, as well as 48 Nantong enterprises. Qidong, known as "China's No 1 Power Tool City", was a key highlight, with Lyusigang town presenting its strong power tool industrial cluster.

Local companies reported strong results. Jiangsu Sesame Tools secured intended orders worth $2.3 million from clients including those in Kazakhstan, Nigeria and Pakistan. Nantong VICTORY POWER Tool reached two deals with Iranian clients totaling $5.5 million.

Other sectors also made gains. Jiangsu JiangXiang Photoelectric Technology secured a $300,000 order from clients in Brazil and South Africa, while Lexin Textile won a $100,000 order in the home textile sector.
