Three projects from Nantong, Jiangsu province, recently made the third batch of provincial industrial heritage items, according to a notice by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu.

Jianghai Capacitor in Tongzhou district is one of the representative enterprises in China's capacitor industry. The factory retains the original riveting machines, manual winding machines, and blueprints for aluminum electrolytic capacitor production, showcasing the development of China's electronic component manufacturing processes. It also stands as a significant testament to the industrial technological advancements in Nantong.

Jiangsu Huayi Group in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, serves as the primary base for Nantong's traditional tie-dyeing techniques. The factory preserves old dyeing vats and traditional tie-dye tools, maintaining the essence of ancient tie-dyeing and weaving techniques while breathing new life into the ancient craft.

Baipu yellow wine is a representative brand of Jiangsu's refreshing-style yellow wine, known for its unique brewing techniques, including short rice soaking times and low fermentation temperatures. The technique ensures continuous yeast nourishment through secondary feeding, resulting in a distinctive flavor profile. This craft has been passed down for over 300 years. Existing relics of the Baipu yellow wine factory in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, include workshop sites of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), ancient wine cellars, and traditional brewing tools, preserving centuries of local culinary culture.

Industrial heritage not only embodies the historical memory of a city's industrial development but also helps preserve industrial traditions and promote the spirit of craftsmanship. The selection of these three projects is expected to contribute to the promotion of industrial cultural tourism in Nantong and enhance the protection and innovative use of traditional crafts.
