On the occasion of the sixth Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival on Sept 23, Haimen district in Nantong showcased vibrant scenes of golden rice fields, bustling fishing ports, and fruitful orchards, demonstrating the achievements of rural vitalization.

Jiangxinsha Farm, the granary of Haimen, boasts more than 8,900 mu (593.33 hectares) of rice fields. The farm employs an innovative staggered seedling cultivation system and simultaneous harvesting, plowing, and transplanting. Optimized techniques have shortened growth cycles, while premium varieties boost both yield and quality.

Haimen Port bustled at sunset as fishing boats unloaded fresh catches, drawing crowds of buyers. Offshore fishing began on Aug 5, with fishermen preserving catches like swimming crabs in submerged nets. Each boatload sold out within hours. The grand fishing season launched on Sept 16, sending 25 deep-sea vessels to the autumn bounty.

At WoDa Agriculture in Haiyong town, 550 mu of kiwi berries are thriving in fertile soil. The automated production line ships 25,000 boxes daily, with the berries highly popular among consumers in the Yangtze River Delta region. The entire industry chain provides employment for over 100 villagers, balancing business development with increased income for villagers.

From rice fields to fishing ports, from the branches to daily life, rural vitalization has become a tangible reality. In the future, Haimen aims to advance with vibrant energy toward the goals of "strong agriculture, beautiful countryside, and prosperous farmers".
