Nantong is once again alive with excitement as the highly anticipated fireworks competition among six nations is set to amaze spectators beyond expectation.

The fireworks competition will be held on Aug 2 and 3 at the Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area within the Yuantuojiao Resort in Qidong, promising a spectacular display.

Six leading fireworks teams from Italy, Russia, Brazil, Australia, France, and Thailand will compete across the sea and sky, delivering a mesmerizing fireworks extravaganza.

"We're here to revolutionize tradition and set new records," said Qiu Jian, the mastermind behind the competition. All fireworks will illuminate the sea, marking the world's first competitive-grade sea fireworks spectacle.

As dazzling fireworks explode above the waves under a starlit sky, blending with the stunning scenery where the Yangtze River, Yellow Sea, and East China Sea meet, the display is expected to outshine typical land-based fireworks in its breathtaking beauty.

With a total investment of 30 million yuan ($4.19 million), this event is a rare global showcase in scale, set to reshape perceptions of fireworks and aerial performance art.

"This competition will challenge two Guinness World Records for fireworks plus drone performances," affirmed Qiu, highlighting the event's dual focus on pushing the boundaries of technical prowess and elevating fireworks art to unprecedented heights.

As the host, the Chinese team will not participate in the competition among the six nations. Instead, they will dazzle audiences with a spectacular fireworks display at the opening and closing ceremonies, complemented by four innovative drone and fireworks performances during the intermission that highlight China's cutting-edge combination of fireworks technology and artistry.
